#1 San Sebastian, Spain
Wedged between two spectacular bays which and the 123-meter “Monte” Urgull; San Sebastian offers ideal 5k or 10k races to clear your mind. The small but steep hill provides a tough uphill workout against a backdrop of 360-degree panoramic views from the top. Fresh air, incredible ocean views and foot/bike paths along the esplanades means you will never get lost.
#2 Sydney Coast, Australia
In Sydney, a run in the sun should begin and end with a dip. Cool off in the Iceberg pool from above Bondi beach before putting your sneakers on for a run along the coast. The Bondi to Coogee coastal run is just 6km, but takes in amazing shorelines along the way, including Bronte, Tamarama, and Clovelly. Enjoy a leisurely jog and stop for a swim along the way or run the whole distance and enjoy stunning views along the way.
#3 Scotland Tour 2015
“Holidays For People Who Run.” RunningTheHighlands.com offers breathtaking holidays in the Scottish Highlands for runners of all abilities. Depending on which tour you choose, the route covers some of the very best sceneries in Scotland. Get ready to enjoy spectacular mountain scenery in the Cairngorms National Park, many historic landmarks, and several of the best malt whisky distilleries in the world. The tour finishes on the incredible Moray coast where you might catch a glimpse of the UK’s largest pod of bottle nose dolphins. Next tours start in October.
#4 Zakynthos, Greece
Home of one of the most spectacular beaches in the world… Navagio. The “Shipwreck” beach has been so named since 1980s, when the alleged smuggler ship “Panagiotis” was wrecked on this beach while illegally transporting cigarettes.
Last year, I ran from Argassi to Navagio, a distance of approximately 43km. But you don’t have to run a marathon to enjoy the stunning views in Zakynthos. The whole island offers an incredible mix of Greek and Italian cultures and panoramic views.
#5 Chicago’s Lakeside, USA
For true fans of architecture there is no better run than along Chicago’s lakefront. Begin at Oak Street beach near North Michigan Avenue and work your way south along the lakefront trail for about two miles until you reach Buckingham Fountain and Grant Park, where you’ll get a great view of the whole horizon.
#6 Leadville, Colorado, USA
Tackle the toughest race of your life. Featured in Christopher McDougall’s “Born to Run” book and known the world over thanks to Lance Armstrong, who crossed the finish line first in 2009 (in Mountain Bike Race), Leadville Trail 100 Run offers a 100-mile race at an elevation of more than 10,000 feet. You can join the training camp taking place 26-29 June, 2015.

#9 Hawaii, USA
Exploring the island of Hawaii will offer you the opportunity to find places located in the quiet regions on the northern tip of Hawaii’s Big Island, far removed from the honeymooners, tourists, and sightseers in Kona and Hilo. You can go for a solo run in the morning and come back to the heart of busy summer life in Hawaii afterwards.
#10 Cape Town, South Africa
Perched between the mountain and the ocean, with a national park as its heart, there is no place for running like Cape Town. Cape Town, the “Mother City”, is the oldest city in South Africa and has a cultural heritage spanning more than 400 years.
A great thing to do on a full moon summer’s night is to run up Lion’s Head before dark, watch the sun set on one hand and the full moon rise on the other and then run down in the shimmering light.
What can be better than running with two oceans on your right or left side?
